What is an Addon Domain?

An add-on domain is a separate domain name you add to an existing web Hosting subscription with Solelyweb. Your Hosting account with Solelyweb may include the ability to host multiple websites depending on your Hosting package.

Step 1: Log into cPanel.

Step 2: Go to the Domains section and click on "Addon Domains" icon.

Step 3: New Domain Name: Enter the new addon domain name with an extension i.e. .com, but do not include HTTP or WWW in the name.

Step 4: Subdomain Name/ FTP Username: When adding a new domain to your account, cPanel automatically configures an additional FTP user for this domain.

Step 5: Document Root: cPanel will automatically suggest a name for the folder based on the "New Domain Name" you entered above. Make sure that the name does have that same name as any existing folder. The document root is the directory where the files for this website will be located.
However, if the folder already exists, it may give you a warning that the username/directory/subdomain already exists, but in this case, you entered something that already exists on purpose provided you have your website files stored in this partifular folder. You can safely ignore this warning.

Step 6: Password: The password you enter here is the FTP password for the FTP which is automatically created by cPanel. Fill in any password you want and re-enter password again.

Step 7: Password: Once you are finished filling in the details, select the "Add Domain" button.

Note: If you have the domain registered with another company, your new domain name will not display. You must contact the company where you registered your domain, and change the nameservers there to ours if your content is stored on ours (which your website content is set up on):
Name Server: NS1.SOLELYWEB.COM Name Server: NS2.SOLELYWEB.COM
